Launched in 2014 to coincide with the commemorative cruise of the Dunkirk Little Ships

The Chatham Maritime Food & Drink Festival celebrates the area’s rich maritime heritage, providing local residents with an annual event they can both participate in and enjoy.

Securing itself a place in Kent’s food festival calendar, the Kent Messenger described the event as “a foodies’ dream.” Taking place in Dock Square, this free festival is hosted over 3 days during the May Bank Holiday and offers something for everyone with a vibrant programme of activities and entertainment. Live music takes place on the bandstand, showcasing local talent including solo artists, DJs, bands and sea shanties.

Hosted by local nursery, Busy Bees, the Kids' Mess Tent is  is a perfect opportunity for little ones to burn off ice cream-induced energy while parents enjoy a drink from the Festival Bar and relax on the lawn.

Dragon Boat Racing

The Dragon Boat Racing is a hugely popular fixture. Taking place annually and lasting the duration of Sunday's festivities, it represents the Medway Sunlight Rotary Club's 'flagship' charity event. Anyone interested in entering a team can also download the necessary forms from the Medway Sunlight Rotary website:

What we do for this event

We produce and curate the entire event from start to finish following remits given by the Trust. The ultimate goal is to promote the estate and the trust to the wider area and to produce annual events for the residents of the area.
