Launched in 2014 to coincide with the commemorative cruise of the Dunkirk Little Ships

The Chatham Maritime Food & Drink Festival celebrates the area’s rich maritime heritage and gives local residents an annual event that they can participate in and enjoy.

The Kent Messenger described the event as “a foodies’ dream” and has secured itself a place in Kent’s food festival calendar. This free festival hosted over 3 days of the May Bank Holiday takes place in Dock Square and has something for everyone with its activities and entertainment. Live music takes place on the bandstand and showcases local talent including solo artists, DJs, bands and Sea shanties.

The Kids Mess Tent is hosted by local nursery Busy Bees and is a perfect opportunity for little ones to burn off some ice cream induced energy while parents can enjoy a drink from the Festival Bar and relax on the lawn.

Dragon Boat Racing
Dragon Boat Racing is a massively popular and annual event at this festival and takes place for the whole day on the Sunday. This is the 'flagship' charity event for the Medway Sunlight Rotary Club and one that everybody really enjoys. What we do for this event

We produce and curate the entire event from start to finish following remits given by the Trust. The ultimate goal is to promote the estate and the trust to the wider area and to produce annual events for the residents of the area.
